Student Report Writer is designed to automatically create and complete student reports.
The app has a variety of uses.
For example, teachers can use Student Report Writer to quickly create clean, consistent, grammatically correct reports in a few seconds.
Educational business enterprises can use Student Report Writer to streamline and allow their teachers to make all their reports consistent with company design.
Finally, Student Report Writer has a very simple scripting language, anyone with a bit of patience, computer and a text editor can create their own report formats.

Why I wrote SRW
Half my life is spent writing apps, designing websites and doing just about anything to do with computers I can. The other half is spent teaching English in Japan. I like Japan, I like teaching most of the time, although sometimes it can get a little tiring.
So you've just got to the end (or near the end of a business or other class), you're looking forward to a little break perhaps, before the next class starts. Then you get that little nagging feeling, "got to write those final student reports”.
It's not so bad if it's just 1,2, or 3 students, but when it's a group of 6, 12 or even 16 then the pressure is on. Writing a report usually takes me about 10-15 minutes, so for 16 students thats 3 or 4 hours of my day gone; and that's not including occasional breaks for a tea or coffee or a quick look at the TV.
Most of the reports start in the same way, have similar sentences and advice for future study. So one day, I thought that if I could "digitize" sentences in past reports, put them in some sort of order - depending on the skill level of the student concerned and make some kind of app that could access this data and make some kind of report that would be cool, and in addition the reports would be more consistent.
That's how Student Report writer was conceived.
The first reports created with the very first version of the app were pretty good, but there was always room for improvement. I had 8 reports to write just before the end of 2011 and didn't want to do them. With a few minutes of moving sliders and typing students names I completed all the reports in about 10 minutes. There were then a some modifications needed in the app code to make things easier, faster, grammatically and gender correct and free of mistakes. That was a few more hours coding, then it all worked.
It all worked, but it wasn't yet ready for prime time, 4 weeks more coding and testing and then it was.
I am now proud to say that Student Report Writer is now available on the app store. I use it to write all my student reports, usually proof reading or add a little more information after using Student Report Writer to generate these reports. This still saves me a lot of time.
